Premises Officer - PART TIME

- Salary: £14.52 - £15.85 per hour (PAYE) (Umbrella rate will be available too)
We are currently seeking a Premises Officer to join our team on a temporary basis to cover a current absence. The role involves maintaining a safe, clean, and high-quality environment for pupils, staff, and visitors at allocated Special Needs Teaching Service (SNTS) sites. This position is ideal for individuals with experience as a caretaker, handy person, or premises officer, looking to contribute positively in a part-time capacity.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Ensure adequate security at allocated SNTS sites and facilities.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across the buildings and facilities.
- Progress and carry out necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Keep outside areas safe, clean, and tidy.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections as required.
- Implement Health & Safety legislation continuously.
- Monitor work carried out by contractors and report to the Head of Service.
- Manage the treatment and testing of the spa pool at the Nursery.
- Receive and transport educational, cleaning, and stationary deliveries to relevant store areas.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Understanding of health and safety issues related to equipment, chemicals, and working practices.
- General experience or related practical skills in property maintenance.
- Previous experience in a property caretaker role preferred.
- Experience in a SEND school or knowledge of SEND requirements is desirable.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following: joinery, painting/decorating, plumbing, or DIY.
- Good literacy skills with the ability to read and write effectively.
- Awareness of security issues and ability to remain calm under stress.
- Ability to establish good working relationships with all staff members.
- Physically fit and able to work above ground level on steps and ladders.
