A leading multidisciplinary consultancy known for its commitment to excellence and innovative solutions is seeking a seasoned Principal Designer to join their team in the Midlands.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Principal Designer to contribute to major projects within industries such as leisure, demolition, commercial, local authority, NHS, residential, and much more.

The Principal Designer's Role

As a Principal Designer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring design compliance with health and safety regulations, managing design risks, and liaising with clients and contractors. Your expertise will guide projects from the planning stage through to completion, ensuring all design aspects adhere to CDM regulations and best practices.

Key responsibilities include

  • Overseeing the design phase to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Leading risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinating with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Providing expert advice on design safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all project phases.

The Principal Designer will ideally have

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Principal Designer, preferably in a similar consultancy environment.
  • Professional qualifications such as RIBA, ICE, CIOB, or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations and other relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Proven experience in managing complex construction projects.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide project teams.
