JE133 Site OperativeLocation: LeicestershireSalary: £28,000 - £34,000 + ProgressionOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Site Operative on behalf of one of our clients.To assist and support Site Supervisors with project/site work.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete works as set out by the Supervisor responsible for overseeing the project on behalf of the client.
  • Ensure PPE appropriate/applicable to site and task is worn as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Ensure that PPE is in good condition and that it is maintained as required.
  • Consult with support staff (H&S, Logistics, HR, Administration) to ensure all statutory requirements are adhered to as far as reasonably practicable.
  • To ensure all documentation associated to a project/task is complete and is in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Report all accidents/incidents/near misses in line with the accident reporting process as directed by the Health and Safety Manager.
  • Make the Supervisor or Project Manager aware, in a timely fashion, of any delay in the schedule/works and outline the reason.
  • As far as reasonably practicable comply with any reasonable requirements from the client, ensuring that the Supervisor or Project Manager is made aware of such requests.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order, that checks are recorded and any defects recorded and reported and the tool/equipment in question is suitably quarantined.
  • When applicable, to ensure plant and any other equipment is inspected and maintained before use.
  • Ensure that compounds are well maintained, regularly cleaned, regularly serviced (waste/water) and is recorded.
  • Assist and support HR and provide relevant feedback when requested.
  • Ensure welfare supplies are maintained to a suitable level for the site team and visitors, this includes adequate water for site personnel.
  • Assisting other employees with tasks where necessary.
  • General housekeeping when visiting Head Office.
  • Adhere to any reasonable management request.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments and meetings when requested.
  • Provide visitors with information and direct them accordingly.
  • Greet visitors/clients in a professional manner.

Skills:

  • Full driver’s licence.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS (Desirable).
  • CPCS 360 Excavator (Desirable).
  • CPCS Tractor (Desirable)
  • Brushcutter
  • NPTC Chainsaw tickets (Desirable)
  • CSCS Card.
