Simon Acres Recruitment are proud to be working with a forward-thinking and fast-growing company who are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to join their operation based in Leicestershire.

This opportunity is paying between £32,000 - £40,000.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm.

Managing the safe day to day operation of the Stone and Porcelain Workshop. Overseeing the rework of Porcelain and natural stone tiles utilising factory machinery and tools including machine bullnosing, edge finishing, polishing/hand finishing, tumbling and cutting to agreed specifications. In addition, you will be overseeing the completion of required product samples cutting and finishing to agreed timelines and standards.

The Role:

  • Ensuring bespoke Workshop orders are completed to the required standard and within agreed timelines.
  • Liaising with sales team staff over order specifications as required.
  • Working closely with the Samples Team Manager to plan samples cutting workload.
  • Ensuring that required samples are on schedule and to required standard with minimal waste.
  • Basic production scheduling.
  • Driving and taking ownership of maintaining high levels of housekeeping standards across site.
  • Ensuring Health & Safety policies, rules and procedures are always adhered to across site.
  • Driving process and procedural adherence and improvement within the workshop operation.
  • Scheduling of daily workload and allocation of staff across.
  • Ensuring machinery and equipment is properly maintained with associated record keeping.
  • Ordering, packing and checking as required.
  • Ensuring training of staff in all workshop roles as required
  • General responsibility for the site, shared with the Samples Team Manager

Candidate Requirements:

  • Workshop Management experience within stone fabrication or relevant experience utilising heavy machinery in a fabrication environment.
  • Proven experience managing a small team of people.
  • Strong leadership skills with a can-do attitude.
  • Highly organised, attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve and effectively manage time.
  • Positively embrace change.
  • Lead by example, taking ownership of tasks.
  • Hands on - processing heavy fragile goods.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office and basic Excel).
  • Full UK driving licence.
