Home Working Position with UK Travel Expected

This is a home working position but with UK travel expected.

The annual salary for this position will be £28,000-32,000, depending on experience and location.

Our client a well-respected, pioneering and reputable professional association who to provide equal opportunities within the education sector and who are celebrating its 150th anniversary is currently recruiting for a Membership Manager.

If you are a membership officer, membership advisor, membership executive, membership coordinator, membership manager currently or recently working for Trade Association, Professional Body, Membership Organisation, Charity, Not for Profit or alternatively work within the education sector as a Teacher in primary, secondary, higher or further ed but would like to switch careers we would love to hear from you.

The Role of Membership Manager

The Association is looking to appoint a Membership Manager to support the development and management of the Association’s membership and accreditation processes; to co-ordinate and contribute to the services offered to Members of the Association; and to be a key point of contact for membership enrolment, renewal and support, thereby ensuring excellent member experience and data integrity as part of a small, dedicated and dynamic team.

The Membership Manager will need to be engaged and motivated in the work and mission of the Association. Commitment, approachability and reliability are key to fulfilling the role.

Person Specification

Essential

An approachable manner and the demonstrable ability to interact professionally with members in the Education sector and colleagues

Proven experience of working effectively in a team to deliver excellent customer service

Proven administrative ability, with experience of processing data accurately and demonstrating excellent attention to detail while multi-tasking and meeting deadlines

Demonstrable experience of working in an accurate, organised and methodical fashion to tight timescales

Extensive experience and knowledge of using a membership database or equivalent CRM system

Knowledge of creating and interrogating reports in databases

Absolute attention to detail

Ability to maintain confidentiality and GDPR data protection legislation requirements

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Excellent written English and the ability to write clear and accurate letters and emails

Excellent customer care and oral communication skills

Excellent numeracy and the ability to analyse data and produce data reports

Strong prioritisation, time management and organisational skills

Willingness and ability to work on their own initiative, while remaining aware of limitations and when to ask for help

Ability to identify issues and provide effective solutions

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

A calm, professional and 'can-do’ attitude towards the workplace

A willingness to take on new challenges and evolve according to the changing needs of the Association

Probity, honesty and complete respect for confidentiality

A commitment to fairness and to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion

An understanding and commitment to the aims and values of the association

Experience of working within the membership or fundraising function of a non-profit or membership organisation

The post holder will be expected to attend 12-18 events across the year (scheduled far in advance). All events in school term time. Most are day events, 3-4 involve overnight stays..
