Your new companyHays is working with a successful and fast-growing manufacturing business based in Central Leicester with turnover of over £10M per year. Due to growth, they are looking to expand the Health and Safety team.

Your new roleThe successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage health and safety strategies and policies.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
  • Provide training and education to staff on health and safety protocols.
  • Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend preventive measures.
  • Prepare and present reports on health and safety activities to senior management.
  • Stay up-to-date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all relevant health and safety regulations.

What you'll need to succeed

  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Ability to conduct thorough investigations and risk assessments.
  • Proficiency in report writing and presenting findings to management.
