We are seeking a qualified Health and Safety Surveyor to conduct home health and safety surveys across a portfolio of 19,500 properties for Leicester City Council. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and requires a professional who can efficiently manage visual inspections and report findings.

  • Hourly Rate: £18.10 - £21.35 PAYE or £22.43 - £26.85 Umbrella
  • Location: Multiple hubs in Leicester or remote when not making site visits
  • Job Type: Contract (3 months, with possibility of extension)

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct health and safety surveys on a selected list of 147 properties, ensuring each survey is completed to a high standard.
  • Identify any potential hazards within the properties and document these for further action.
  • Engage with tenants to arrange and carry out property visits.
  • Provide detailed reports on the condition of each property, referring any issues to the relevant team for necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Aim to complete at least 100 property surveys within the next 8-10 weeks to meet board meeting deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid HHSRS qualification.
  • Proven experience in residential health and safety inspections.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective tenant interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team when necessary.
  • Comfortable with travelling to multiple properties and working from different locations.
