Company: High risk, Fast Paced, Manufacturing CompanyVacancy: Health and Safety ManagerSalary £55,000 – £65,000 per annum + Package (DOE)Based: LeicestershireResponsible for coaching and mentoring 1 direct report Seeking a Health and Safety professional who can make a real impact on the factory floor and equally able to communicate with gravitaswith senior management and stakeholders.The ideal H&S Professional will be outgoing, engaging, solutions focused and able to enhance and drive a positive safety culture. If you want to work for a leading manufacturing organisation where you can put your own stamp on the site and get stuck into a variety of interesting projects to enhance the Health and Safety needs of the work force, then this is the role for you!Main responsibilities:- 
  • Drive and maintain H&S compliance across two small, high risk manufacturing sites and drive industry best practice. 
  • Work hand in hand and offer support to the Environment Department 
  • Develop and maintain contacts with relevant H&S regulatory and industry organisations and actively participate in meetings and initiatives with them.
  • Provide concise weekly and monthly reports to Directors and Shareholders
  • Develop and mentor the Safety champions and direct report
  • Deliver training and ensure the effectiveness through the business
  • Daily and monthly safety walks across the sites
  • Drive accountability for safety to the senior management team  
  • Review and develop all safety procedures and documentation 
  • Liaising with European colleagues and undertaking internal audits on other sites in the wider group
  • Develop an aligned cultural and behavioural change programme and implement across the sites. 
  • Ensuing that ownership for H&S is driven to the workforce at a senior level and on across the factory where they are accountable for health and safety and it is at the forefront of people’s minds 
  • Experience in the maintenance of ISO standards, 45001 and 14001 
  • Champion safety across the multitude of complex projects that will be occurring this year
  • Standardise the sites and reduce potential inconsistency 
Qualifications and essential experience required :- 
  • NEBOSH certificate level as a minimum, ideally NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent 
  • Manufacturing or heavy industry experience (waste, quarrying, food manufacturing, bakery, foundry, chemicals, beverage manufacturing, packaging/ forestry/paper manufacturing
  • Multi-site experience
