Hybrid working - at least one day in the office per month as well as client visits for meetings and hearings as required

As a member of the HR Team, you will be working with committed colleagues in a client focussed, fast paced, environment where no two days are the same. In this role you will provide a comprehensive strategic HR service to a range of external clients predominantly, but not exclusively, from the education sector including both academies and maintained schools.
For this particular role, we are looking for someone who can design, develop and embed HR Policy and procedures, including consultation and negotiation with trade unions. It is an extremely varied role and with an allocation of clients you will need to be able to build positive relationships offering them proactive, solution focussed advice and support to resolve their often complex HR issues.
Attending meetings on-site and remotely, the successful candidate will also be responsible for undertaking other HR activities including investigations, planning and delivering HR training, as well as presenting at our termly HR Briefings. As a generic role across the wider People Services, undertaking job evaluation processes will also be a requirement.
Requirements:
- Possess either a relevant degree or professional management qualification or be able to demonstrate relevant and significant operational experience at the equivalent level with excellent IT skills
- Be able to articulate your experience in the design, development and implementation of succinct and practical HR policies, procedures, guidance, and associated template documents that suit our clients’ needs
- Be a team player with extensive experience of operating in a HR environment, as a sold service, working on multiple casework, which can often be complex requiring proactive and strategic advice and support in the following areas:
- Disciplinary, Grievance, Capability, Sickness Absence, Behaviour at Work issues, organisational change and workforce planning, terms and conditions, contract management, pay and reward, leave, allowances and benefits
- Possess business and commercial awareness as well as having an up to date understanding of employment legislation and associated case law with the ability to understand and articulate impact
- Possess excellent listening, communication and influencing skills, in particular to be able to give clear, concise strategic advice and guidance to a range of clients and key stakeholders. including trade unions
- Be able to determine client need, assess any risk and be able to provide advice in the form of options and guide the customer to support them in resolve complex HR issues at the same time as achieving the right outcome which meets their requirements
- Be flexible and a self-starter with the ability to manage conflicting priorities through working efficiently to meet set deadlines whilst at the same time, maintaining a high standard of work
