Hybrid Working Arrangement: 2 – 3 Days Onsite in Leicestershire

We are working with a Local Government Authority who are embarking on a period of change which involves moving away from their Third-Party IT Service provider and bringing services in house.

You will be part of a once in a generation technology acceleration, assisting with the design of the service whilst advising on best use of cloud-based technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain the infrastructure function for the council, including transformation of the council’s infrastructure, in particular the council’s security suite of products and the hybrid infrastructure platforms
  • Work with and manage a range of third-party suppliers to ensure our dependent systems are well-run and cost-effective
  • Support the vision and architecture for infrastructure, helping to modernise in a way that is consistent, and which contributes to corporate objectives
  • Act as the council’s senior escalation for infrastructure issues, building and maintaining a high standard of customer service
  • Support development of strategic and tactical engineering roadmaps for technologies within infrastructure services, making sure that they are future-proofed and that the organisation derives maximum value from its investment
  • Manage, lead and progress the Infrastructure team, act as part of the ICT leadership providing both direct and indirect line management activities and support

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in ICT Infrastructure delivery, including leading a technical team and running an effective infrastructure administration programme
  • Possess expertise in wide variety of server, storage and backup hardware and software platforms, network and security infrastructure with a particular focus on Microsoft Azure public cloud
  • Experience in a hands-on role in an infrastructure capacity, in all areas from design, implementation and maintaining and leading technical teams
  • To be budget aware and efficiently deliver operational projects alongside daily support and improvements will be crucial for success
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in a wide variety of server, storage and backup hardware and software platforms
  • Experienced of Data (LAN, WAN, VLAN and Wireless) networks and voice networks
