The Company:
An excellent opportunity for a Footwear Designer to join a successful fashion importer supplying some on the main fashion brands including Boohoo, PLT, Missguided, and Asos amongst others. We are seeking someone with excellent CAD skills, and attention to detail and experience in a creative footwear design role. The ideal person will be confident and outgoing, able to build relationships with Buyers in a 360 design role. Hybrid options available
The Role:
Creating sketches and style information for footwear
Have first class understanding of materials and other processes to sustain a high level of quality Develop and create illustrations and technical drawings to a high quality and technical level that will be passed to factories
Extensive market research, catwalk reports and comp shops.
Keeping up to date with fashion trends including colours and shapes.
Working on customer design briefs.
Delivering products on budget.
Manipulating artwork files from pdfs
Be commercially aware of current trends and themes.
Working with/ meeting buyers to develop new products.
Working with Merchandising team to ensure all products are designed in line with the Critical Path.
Working closely with overseas factories and building up good relationships.
Processing samples as they come into the office.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role is essential
Creative
CAD skills
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Good organisational skills.
Ability to work as part of a team whilst also showing own initiative.
