MDE Group are happy to be working with a well established international manufacturing company that are seeking an Automation Engineer in Lancaster. This role plays a crucial part within the Production and Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for bringing an innovative and informed engineering perspective to the team. No two days are the same in this dynamic environment, and this role will see you as a key player in maintaining, troubleshooting, creating solutions, updating, improving, and standardizing all aspects of maintenance and production.
Main Duties:
- Provide hands-on technical support for instrumentation and electrical control applications.
- Ensure programs are backed up and documentation, schematics, and drawings are updated.
- Analyze and implement necessary upgrades or projects related to instrumentation and electrical control applications.
- Support the daily activities of the maintenance teams and assist in shutdowns and investment projects.
- Program, monitor, and modify PLC and DCS control logic.
- Troubleshoot PLC, DCS, and relay control systems.
- Participate in the emergency on-call roster.
- Promote safe working principles throughout the plant and address any safety concerns or practices.
Additional Requirements:
- Electrical knowledge or qualificatgion.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Experience with Siemens or Rockwell.
- 18th Edition certification.
- Manufacturing industry experience.
