We are seeking a Quality Manager to join our client’s Technical Department. This role involves using technical knowledge and management experience to develop high-performing teams and ensure our products meet the highest standards of food safety and legality. The Quality Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining our compliance with BRC standards and preventing product recalls by actively managing quality control processes.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct sampling and testing of all Raw Materials, Work in Progress, and Finished Goods.
  • Review and audit documentation for all Raw Materials, Finished Goods, and Works Orders ensuring all Critical Control Points (CCPs) are completed and signed.
  • Manage HACCP procedures and controls, including routine checks, monitoring, and implementing necessary changes.
  • Perform internal audits of all prerequisites, including pest control, glass and plastic, and metal detection.
  • Conduct annual full quality audits against current BRC requirements and monthly GMP audits.
  • Update and control documents for the Quality Manual, including all systems, procedures, and policies.
  • Ensure all required information from suppliers is compliant with current legal and BRC requirements.
  • Provide customers with necessary technical information such as questionnaires, specifications, and certificates of analysis.
  • Monitor and update the complaints database, managing customer and supplier complaints.
  • Report on supplier, internal, and customer complaints at monthly meetings.
  • Manage environmental testing including water, swabbing, allergens, and results analysis.
  • Oversee supplier approval systems and raw material risks database.
  • Lead the team by example, demonstrating high standards of compliance and professionalism.
  • Support all areas of the business flexibly to ensure service levels are met.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant systems.
  • Strong influencing skills to ensure adherence to procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret written and numerical data.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement technical improvements.
  • Trained in Food Safety and Health and Safety.
  • Extensive experience in food manufacturing processes and quality control.
  • Deep understanding of product allergens and production scheduling.
  • Certified HACCP Team Leader.
