A global manufacturer of high precision components supplied to aerospace and defence industries, is now seeking a Production Engineer to join their growing team in Leicester. With sites in the UK and globally, this business has state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved.
The Production Engineer will report to the Manufacturing Manager, the main purpose of the role is the installation, commissioning and approval of new equipment, also to identify and implement continuous improvement throughout the plant.
Production Engineer duties include -
- Design and Specify sourcing and commissioning of production systems to deliver product on time, to quality requirements and cost.
- Production capacity planning and forecasting
- Support continuous improvement activities
- Perform root cause analysis
- Deployment of APQP for new developments/ changes and deploy Lean Manufacturing toolkits
- Produce written reports
Production Engineer desirable skills and experience -
- Previous proven experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally in Aerospace
- Previous experience in a Manufacturing, Process or Production Engineer roles
- Experience of using lean manufacturing tools
- Knowledge of APQP process
- Relevant engineering / manufacturing qualification HND or above
- Green Belt qualification in Lean Manufacturing - not essential
