Production Manager Overview -

  • Oversee all aspects of production operations, including health and safety, production planning, quality control, cost management, and efficiency improvements.

Production Manager responsibilities include -

  • Manage the production team, performance reviews, recruitment, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure quality standards are met and implement strategies to reduce defects and rework.
  • Manage variable costs, labour utilisation, and productivity to achieve cost targets.
  • Maintain consistent production levels and address bottlenecks.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and failures.
  • Drive 6S implementation and utilise lean tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Work with engineering and quality departments to support new product introductions, operational improvements, and problem-solving.

Desirable Production Manager skillset and education -

  • Experience working in a similar role (Production Supervisor, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement/Lean tools and techniques.
  • Experience in delivering Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Relevant manufacturing training or mechanical engineering education (HND/HNC).
