Mould Toolmaker

Our client are currently recruiting for a Mould Toolmaker. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, fabrication, and assembly of tools and fixtures used in manufacturing processes. This role requires a strong understanding of CAD software, particularly SolidWorks and AutoCAD, as well as hands-on experience with various machining techniques. The Tool Maker will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and precision of our production operations.

Our client may also be interested in speaking to a Toolmaker with less experience who is looking to take the next step in their career.

Duties

• Design and fabricate tooling and fixtures according to specifications.
• Assemble and test tools to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Operate milling machines, lathes, and grinding equipment to produce precision components.
• Utilise hand tools for fine adjustments and finishing touches on tools.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop tooling solutions for new products.
• Maintain and repair existing tools to extend their lifespan and functionality.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working in the workshop.
• Document all processes and modifications made during tool fabrication.

Skills

• Proficient in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Strong ability to fabricate tools using various machining techniques.
• Experience in tooling design, particularly for plastics injection moulding applications.
• Competence in assembling complex mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with milling, grinding, and other machining processes.
• Skilled in using hand tools for detailed work.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
