Job Title:Senior Design Engineer
Location:Leicestershire
Salary:75,000 D.O.E
We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join a dynamic company in the special purpose machinery sector. This key role offers excellent career growth potential and involves managing design and engineering activities while collaborating with senior management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design of machinery to meet specifications
- Produce detailed assembly and component drawings
- Drive innovation through R&D participation
- Conduct design calculations
- Collaborate with external controls/software engineers
- Support the sales team with technical expertise
- Engage with customers locally and internationally
- Ensure designs meet budget and delivery requirements
- Liaise with production and suppliers to ensure quality and compliance
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in designing special purpose machinery from scratch
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
- Strong commercial and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
- Familiarity with MRP systems and Microsoft Project (preferred)
- International driving license and passport required
