We're an R&D focussed manufacturer of special purpose machinery and equipment. You'll be an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who has designed some form of industrial machinery and / or equipment / sub-systems. Based in Rutland, we want you to become an expert on our product range. You'll also be supported by a Design Administrator from a BOM's & CAD point of view. 聽 The existing Design team are very experienced engineers with a real passion for R&D & a flair for innovation - you can help us to stay ahead of our competition as we develop new machinery and re-engineer our existing machinery and product portfolio. 聽 聽聽 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - 3D modelling, CREO 聽 路 The mechanical design of machinery, equipment, sub-systems and sub-assemblies with about 70% new product development (NPD). Some of our products are petrol or battery driven. 路 Material selection including stainless steel, aluminium, sheet-metal, mild steel etc 路 Your experience will be utilised on a range of small machinery / equipment that will include gear boxes, belt drives, and motors, hydraulics and pneumatics 路 You'll have a true passion for innovation and new technologies, maybe you have knowledge of 3D printing too? 聽 YOUR BACKGROUND : Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - 3D modelling, CREO 聽 路 It goes without saying you'll have existing mechanical design experience and a design portfolio to demonstrate your work 路 You'll have designed a range of parts / components / sub-assemblies which are machined, welded or fabricated 路 You'll understand designing in various materials such as: stainless steel, aluminium, sheet-metal, mild steel etc 路 You'll have 3D modelled using CREO / Pro-Engineer or similar such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks 聽 You may have a B.Eng or an M.Eng in Mechanical Engineering or similar; but we're equally happy if you come from an ONC/HNC apprentice background 聽 We welcome a variety of mechanical engineering design backgrounds such as stand-alone machinery, pneumatic equipment, trailers, vehicle design, chassis, body in white, hydraulics etc 聽 THE COMPANY:聽 We design and develop our own electro-mechanical special purpose machines and associated equipment utilised in the power and utilities sectors. We supply to the National Grid / Power Grid & smaller energy contractors. We also supply into multiple industry sectors such as civil engineering & telecoms. 聽 PROSPECTS:聽 You should expect career progression like your Manager, into a more senior role within the business. From there, you may want to concentrate on mechanical design or be more involved with project engineering, supporting your Line Manager. 聽 It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services: Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer - motor, machine, machinery, control systems, inverters, equipment, CAD, 3D modelling, motor control, electric vehicle, EV, hydraulics, pneumatics, structural, CREO, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NPD, steel, aluminium, winch, hoist, trailer. 聽 INTERESTED?
