As part of this expansion, we have a permanent opportunity for a Tooling Design Engineer to join our team in Leicester.

The Role:

This is a varied and engaging position within a precision engineering environment, focusing on the design of bespoke broach cutting tools. You will be involved in both technical design and problem-solving, working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing design layouts for quotation purposes.
  • Developing technical designs and specifications for broach tools based on customer requirements.
  • Creating 2D and 3D CAD production drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Assisting with root cause analysis of technical issues and providing general design support.
  • Supporting the production department with technical queries.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking an experienced Tooling Design Engineer with a background in precision engineering and tool design.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in an Engineering Design role, using 2D and 3D CAD
  • Autodesk Inventor experience is essential
  • A minimum qualification of HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A strong understanding of precision engineering and tooling design.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and production teams.
