The Recruitment Group are working in partnership with an established company who have over 70 years’ experience in metal pressing & press tool making. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tool Maker to join their team. As a Tool Maker, you will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and repairing precision tools and equipment used in production processes. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail, ensuring tools and machinery are built to exact specifications to ensure efficiency and accuracy in their operations.

- 7.30-4.30 Monday – Thursday 7.30-12.00 Friday
- 20 days holiday + bank holidays (Shut down for Christmas)

Responsibilities:
- Design, construct, and repair tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.
- Work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce tools and tooling systems.
- Set up, operate, and maintain precision machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Manual and CNC experience is beneficial for this position
- Inspect and measure completed tools and components using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure production continuity.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, machinists, and other production staff to ensure tools meet design requirements and quality standards.
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on tooling equipment to ensure optimum performance.
- Maintain accurate records of tool maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality control procedures throughout the production process.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Tool Maker or in a similar manufacturing role.
- Proficiency in using machining tools and equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM machines.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, CAD/CAM systems, and tool design.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, and height gauges.
- Good knowledge of materials, including metals, plastics, and composites, and their appropriate applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.
