Maintenance Supervisor

Salary: £50-£60,000 DOE

Night Shift 8pm-5am

Orion Electrotech are working with a well-established waste management company who are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team.

Role and Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure our MRF equipment is maintained, repaired, and replaced to meet optimal performance targets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise a skilled team of Maintenance Technicians, Engineers, Team Leaders, and Operators. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability by providing coaching, feedback, and conducting regular appraisals.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure equipment uptime meets the KPI target of 95% through effective maintenance planning and execution. Collaborate with the operational team to achieve daily targets and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Quality Control & Compliance: Conduct and monitor all maintenance work to adhere to planned maintenance systems and safety standards. Complete risk assessments, method statements, and oversee health and safety practices, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Inventory & Cost Management: Manage maintenance stock levels, plan parts issuance, and control departmental expenditure. Assist in budget monitoring and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support & Compliance: Work closely with the Operations Manager to maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental standards, and all relevant legislative requirements, including the Health and Safety at Work Act and ISO accreditations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in maintenance supervision within an industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with an emphasis on safety and preventive maintenance.
  • Excellent team leadership abilities with experience in performance management, training, and development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
