- Management of Lab staff trained in the testing by means of Vickers and Rockwell hardness, Tensile Testing, Shear Testing, Fatigue testing, Stress Durability testing and basic optical metallography (especially with relation to Hot and Cold forging and associated heat treatment).
- Available as a key decision maker for other departments (e.g. Production, Sales & Engineering) & technical discussions with key customers
- Working in a busy laboratory assisting hands on with day to day issues for demanding customer deadlines e.g. P&W, RR, GE etc.
- Knowledge and Gravitas of personality to make decisions based on sound logic.
- Some basic report writing and numerical calculations will be required.
- Maintain full compliance with policies and procedures and conduct all activities in accordance to Business Conduct.
- To adhere to all company EHS requirements and actively participate in the identification and elimination of hazards.
- Experience carrying out metallurgical testing on a range of metals.
- Confident carrying out multiple types of testing such as tensile, hardness, and fatigue testing (Training provided).
- Happy to learn and pick up elements of the quality management system (NADCAP)
- The personality to be able to lead a team of lab technicians, plan in work, and allocate overtime.
- The willingness to work 2-3 weekend days every month (Paid as Overtime).
