Main Purpose
Provide high-quality clinical care to patients, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, person-centered treatment programs based on the recovery model.
Key Responsibilities
- Take clinical responsibility for patients, including conducting ward rounds, risk reviews, and strategic planning.
- Act as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
- Contribute to pre-admission assessments and provide psychiatric expertise to the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in management and clinical governance meetings, contributing to service strategy.
- Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to in-house training programs.
- Maintain CPD and revalidation requirements as per professional standards.
- Support service development and evaluation in collaboration with the Lead Consultant.
Skills & Experience
- CCST/CCT or equivalent in Psychiatry.
- Experience in inpatient settings and managing individuals with significant mental health challenges.
- Strong team player with a multidisciplinary approach to care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and confidence with patients.
- Ability to manage sensitive patient data with confidentiality and accuracy.
