Main Purpose

Provide high-quality clinical care to patients, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, person-centered treatment programs based on the recovery model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take clinical responsibility for patients, including conducting ward rounds, risk reviews, and strategic planning.
  • Act as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
  • Contribute to pre-admission assessments and provide psychiatric expertise to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in management and clinical governance meetings, contributing to service strategy.
  • Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to in-house training programs.
  • Maintain CPD and revalidation requirements as per professional standards.
  • Support service development and evaluation in collaboration with the Lead Consultant.

Skills & Experience

  • CCST/CCT or equivalent in Psychiatry.
  • Experience in inpatient settings and managing individuals with significant mental health challenges.
  • Strong team player with a multidisciplinary approach to care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and confidence with patients.
  • Ability to manage sensitive patient data with confidentiality and accuracy.
