Production Manager Overview -
- Oversee all aspects of production operations, including health and safety, production planning, quality control, cost management, and efficiency improvements.
Production Manager responsibilities include -
- Manage the production team, performance reviews, recruitment, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure quality standards are met and implement strategies to reduce defects and rework.
- Manage variable costs, labour utilisation, and productivity to achieve cost targets.
- Maintain consistent production levels and address bottlenecks.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and failures.
- Drive 6S implementation and utilise lean tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Work with engineering and quality departments to support new product introductions, operational improvements, and problem-solving.
Desirable Production Manager skillset and education -
- Experience working in a similar role (Production Supervisor, etc.).
- Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement/Lean tools and techniques.
- Experience in delivering Health and Safety initiatives.
- Relevant manufacturing training or mechanical engineering education (HND/HNC).
