Job Description:

Hays is in partnership with a vibrant Secondary School in Leicestershire who are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join their team and inspire students. As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality music education to students of various age groups, fostering their musical talents, and contributing to a vibrant school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach KS3 Music and GCSE music production, as well as instruments, music reading, and theory to students aged 11-16.
  • Develop and implement engaging music curricula that meet educational standards and student needs.
  • Regularly evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their musical development.
  • Organise and prepare students for school recitals, concerts, and other performances.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school administrators to support student learning and school events.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
  • Stay current with music education trends and best practices to continuously improve teaching strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Music or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching music to students aged 11-16.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, instruments, and music production.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Experience with organising and directing school performances is a plus.
