Humanities Teacher

We are working in partnership with an Ofsted 'Outstanding' Secondary school in Leicester who are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher to teach History to Key Stage 3 and 4. This is a full-time and long-term role, potentially until the end of the academic year.

We are looking for somebody who has relevant experience working with 11 - 16 year olds within the last 2 years. To be successful, you will be a Qualified Teacher (ECT's welcome to apply) and have recent experience of teaching Humanities across Key Stage 3 and 4, strong behaviour management and the ability to implement schools' behaviour polices is also essential. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging history lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in history education and integrate new teaching methods and resources.
  • Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in History or a related field
  • PGCE / QTS certificate
  • Proven experience teaching history at KS3 and KS4 level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
