School Attendance Officer

We are seeking a proactive School Attendance Officer to join our team. The role involves monitoring and managing student attendance, ensuring all records are up-to-date and compliant with our policies. Previous experience with Bromcom MIS is highly advantageous as it is integral to daily operations.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Monitor and enter student attendance marks accurately and promptly.
  • Contact parents or guardians regarding absent students to ascertain the reason for absence.
  • Liaise with the Pastoral team and Education Welfare Officer (EWO) regarding persistent absentees to implement strategies and support.
  • Process fines for unauthorised absences in line with school policy.
  • Maintain accurate records of communications with parents and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student welfare and attendance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Previous experience with Bromcom MIS or similar management information systems.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proactive in dealing with issues and capable of working independently.
  • Commitment to promoting the importance of regular school attendance.
