I have a new part-time, permanent payroll opportunity to join a large successful Leicester based business as their Payroll Administrator supporting in the completion of the full cycle of their monthly payroll. The role is hybrid and the hours are flexible.

About the Role:

Reporting to the HR Manager, joining the payroll team of 2, as Payroll Administrator you will be responsible for managing the full end to end process of the company's UK monthly in-house payroll for circa 1300 employees. You will work in Excel spreadsheets and the company's payroll and HR software system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the entire end to end monthly payroll process for circa 1300 UK employees across various departments and locations, ensuring payments are accurate and processed on time.
  • Maintain payroll systems and records, including new hires, terminations, changes to salaries, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Prepare and submit payroll, deductions, and benefits contributions.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and payroll queries.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, including PAYE, National Insurance Contributions (NICs), pension schemes (auto-enrolment), and statutory payments (SSP, SMP).
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports to management and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll documentation and information.

Ideally you will have:

  • Good understanding of payroll practices.
  • Experience working as a payroll administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent IT Skills including MS Office.
  • A self-starter - self-motivated, proactive, and able to act on own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - experience of dealing with staff at all levels.
  • Experience of working in a busy environment, an understanding of the importance of deadlines and the ability to work under pressure.
