We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join our team within a trust’s shared service centre. This role is ideal for someone with robust monthly payroll experience who is looking to contribute to a growing business. As part of a small, dynamic team, you will play a key role in the development and streamlining of our payroll processes.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Processing monthly payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Managing payroll approvals and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Calculating and processing statutory payments such as sick pay, maternity/paternity pay, etc.
  • Handling payroll queries from employees and providing excellent customer service.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and preparing reports for management.
  • Collaborating with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest payroll regulations and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in managing monthly payroll processes.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and statutory payment requirements.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience working within a shared service centre environment is desirable.
