About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for suppliers, responsible for negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring a seamless supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure supply continuity and drive cost efficiencies.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and deadlines with vendors and suppliers to secure the best value.
  • Identify potential risks within the procurement environment and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular supplier audits and evaluations, ensuring compliance and maintaining an up-to-date approved suppliers register.
  • Create and execute strategies to enhance supplier relationships, improve communication, and foster collaboration across teams.
  • Ensure the quality of procured goods, addressing any issues using problem-solving methodologies.
  • Maintain accurate purchase records, supplier databases, and procurement contracts for seamless operations.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven expertise in engineering procurement.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to benchmark market pricing and secure favourable terms.
  • Proactive, results-oriented approach with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, acting as a credible ambassador for the procurement team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong engineering background with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
