Buyer Opportunity! - Long term Temproary roleThe Buyer is responsible for purchasing machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and services necessary for the organisation's operations. This role involves ensuring quality purchases at the best price and overseeing contract negotiations.

This is a temporary role for approximately 12 months and based onsite in the Desford office.Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and optimise suppliers based on price, quality, service, and availability.
  • Approve purchases, purchase orders, and bids to ensure correct quantities and pricing.
  • Manage staff in resolving undelivered goods issues and handling supplier negotiations.
  • Collaborate with vendors to address defective goods or services.
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms.

Skills:

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse financial and technical data.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and applicable purchasing regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ideally degree educated
