Head of Procurement |Public Sector | £70,000Macildowie are delighted to be partnering with David Ross Education Trust who are a 36 school multi academy trust who include both primary and secondary schools in the appointment of their Head of Procurement. They have schools across Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire and this role provides the unique opportunity for you to be based in either of these areas in a school local to you due to the back office functions being spread across these three areas. Head of Procurement RemitThis role will be leading the Procurement function and partnering closely with the CFO in the development of the medium and long term strategy of the trust. Building relationships with Head teachers in the schools, educating, supporting and ensuring best practice is adhered to will be a key element of the role, so strong interpersonal skills and being visible and engaged with stakeholder's is key. You will have two direct reports, Procurement Manager & Procurement Officer, with the Procurement Manager being a newly created position providing support to this role. This Procurement Manager will be recruited once the Head of Procurement has been appointed so they can be part of the interviews and make the decision on who to proceed with.Requirements- Experience leading on or supporting on procurement at a strategic level- Full end to end procurement experience including but not limited to tendering, contract management and drafting policy and process changes- 3+ years direct Public sector procurement experience within the last 10 years at Manager or above levelBenefits- Paying up to £70,000- Excellent pension - Local Government Pension Scheme - currently 24.4% employer contribution - Hybrid working - 1 day per week on site (at either of their sites), flexibility to be on site much more if wanted - 39 days annual leave (including bank holiday)This presents a great opportunity to shape a function and the procurement team of an organisation so would suit an individual looking for a new challenge or who wants to leave a lasting legacy of improvements.If you are interested in exploring this great procurement opportunity and feel this could be a fit for you, please apply now with your CV.
