Job Role Responsibilities:
- Analyse and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for machining and fabrication projects.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing for materials and services.
- Work closely with the sales and production teams to ensure accurate quoting and project feasibility.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Maintain and update estimating databases for materials, labour, and processes.
- Communicate effectively with customers to clarify requirements and present quotations.
- Monitor market trends and pricing to stay competitive in the industry.
The Candidate:
- Proven experience in estimating within a machining, fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, fabrication techniques, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
