The Company:

My client is a leading specialist in high-quality joinery solutions, providing bespoke designs and craftsmanship for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for joinery projects, ensuring profitability while maintaining quality standards. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of materials, labour, and production costs.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Consult with clients, architects, and project managers to determine project scope and cost parameters.
  • Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, quotations, and tender documents.
  • Monitor project budgets and provide cost-saving recommendations.
  • Work closely with the production and project management teams to ensure estimates align with operational capabilities.
  • Update cost databases and maintain accurate records of pricing and estimates.
  • Assist in risk assessment and value engineering exercises.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.

The Candidate:

  • Proven experience as an estimator in the joinery industry or similar
  • Strong understanding of joinery materials, production techniques, and costs.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and technical drawings.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
