Quantity Surveyor - Groundworks & Civil Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering to join our clients dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of large-scale construction projects, ensuring cost efficiency and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the commercial management of projects, ensuring financial control from inception to completion.
Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and valuations for groundworks and civil engineering projects.
Manage subcontractor procurement, ensuring value for money and compliance with company standards.
Conduct cost reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making.
Handle contract negotiations, variations, and claims, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
Work closely with project teams to ensure the successful delivery of:
- Foundations (inclusive of all types).
- Heavy civils work.
- Internal drainage and services installation.
- Utility network development.
- Infrastructure improvements and enhancements.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Provide detailed commercial advice and support to project managers and stakeholders.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundworks and civil engineering.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement.
Experience managing complex infrastructure projects, including drainage, utilities, and foundations.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare detailed financial reports.
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
RICS or CIOB accreditation (preferred but not essential).
