Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a leading, well-known groundworks contractor based in the East Midlands. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee a large residential groundworks project, 500+ units.

Duties for the Senior Quantity Surveyor will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Complete monthly applications for payment accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor project costs, track expenditures, and prepare cost reports in line with valuation processes.
  • Compile monthly forecasts with the production team to ensure the successful commercial performance
  • Control costs in accordance with budget
  • Procure subcontractor and supplier packages, negotiate contracts, and manage subcontractor accounts.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Ensure the project team has all of the latest information including drawings and details of tender allowances.
  • Maintain organized project records, including contracts, invoices and correspondence.
  • Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors or team members as required.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the client

Experience Required:

  • Experience in residential or groundworks
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
  • Proficiency in construction software
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage a large project, and meet deadlines
  • Professional accreditation as a Quantity Surveyor (MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent) is preferred
