GRS are currentlyworking with a long-standing client seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen theirCommercial team, based inLeicester, with hybrid working options available.

Our Clientis a leading provider of engineering, construction, and project management services in the water and wastewater sectors, specialising in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the Commercial Management of key projects, working closely with the Commercial Manager. This role offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where you can contribute to exciting projects and lead commercial efforts across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and work packages through comprehensive quantity surveying duties.
  • Collaborate with design, construction, and supply chain teams to monitor and control costs.
  • Work closely with clients to ensure business objectives are met and exceeded.
  • Oversee the main contract, ensuring all contractual notices and correspondence are managed appropriately.
  • Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
  • Support the management and performance of subcontractors.
  • Prepare and agree on applications for payment, cost & value reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Assist in the development and mentoring of junior commercial staff.
  • Stay current with industry changes through networking, conferences, and professional associations.
  • Maintain a positive, solution-oriented approach and foster professional relationships internally and externally.

Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Working towards or holding chartered membership of a recognized institution.
  • Proven experience in utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA sectors.
  • Proficiency with NEC3/4 contracts.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing and developing individuals or small teams.
