Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a leading, well-known groundworks contractor based in the East Midlands. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee a large residential groundworks project, 500+ units.
Duties for the Senior Quantity Surveyor will include but not be limited to the following:
- Complete monthly applications for payment accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor project costs, track expenditures, and prepare cost reports in line with valuation processes.
- Compile monthly forecasts with the production team to ensure the successful commercial performance
- Control costs in accordance with budget
- Procure subcontractor and supplier packages, negotiate contracts, and manage subcontractor accounts.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Ensure the project team has all of the latest information including drawings and details of tender allowances.
- Maintain organized project records, including contracts, invoices and correspondence.
- Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors or team members as required.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the client
Experience Required:
- Experience in residential or groundworks
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Proficiency in construction software
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently, manage a large project, and meet deadlines
- Professional accreditation as a Quantity Surveyor (MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent) is preferred
