Macildowie Recruitment & Retention - Supply Chain & Procurement Category Manager - Electrical - Up to £75,000 - Leicester Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm - PermanentMacildowie Supply Chain & Procurement is delighted to have collaborated with a reputable and growing construction organisation to recruit a Category Manager.The key objective is to hold previous category management experience in a construction, engineering, retail or manufacturing background whilst having exposure to managing successful teams and categories.Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing category expertise to create and deliver differentiated category plans realising growth for customers and the business.
  • Build on the actionable insights to create and drive robust plans to drive mutual growth for customers and the business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal and external customer teams, ensuring insights are at the heart of all decision-making and initiatives, including the innovation pipeline.
  • Analyse effectiveness of NPD, campaign launches and activity, making recommendations for future innovation and activation
  • Sourcing, negotiating and growing with new and existing relationships with overseas suppliers whilst monitoring supplier performance.
  • Line Manage and development the Category Exec team, who are responsible for capturing market and category intel, shopper behaviour and reporting.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy that includes policy formulation, process improvement, and system enhancements.
  • Act as a trusted partner across the business, providing strategic insights and ensuring stakeholder alignment on procurement objectives.

The Candidate

  • Previous experience in a Category Management role of similar within either a construction, engineering, retail or manufacturing background.
  • CIPS qualified.
  • Proven track record of managing teams and managing successful categories.
  • Able to commute to Leicester.
  • Electrical category background and knowledge - Desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
