Controls Engineer

Leicester - hybrid working

up to 60k

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and commission Rockwell Automation PLCs and associated control systems.
  • Develop, configure, and maintain SCADA systems, ensuring seamless integration with control systems.
  • Produce high-quality electrical designs and documentation using EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and optimization for control and automation systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers and other engineers, to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal teams and end-users.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in control systems and automation technologies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in programming and commissioning Rockwell PLCs.
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA systems development and implementation.
  • Proficiency in electrical design tools such as EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and automation principles.
  • Experience in a project-based environment with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and networks (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus) is a plus.
