GSL Education is partnering with a well-respected secondary school in Leicester to recruit a motivated Geography Teacher who can engage students with the wonders of our planet and help them understand the importance of geographical knowledge in today’s world.

About the Role:

As a Geography Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that cover a wide range of geographical topics, including physical and human geography, environmental issues, and global development, to students aged 11-16. Your lessons will encourage critical thinking, analysis, and a deep understanding of the world’s diverse landscapes and cultures. You will also assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s geography curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive geography lessons, aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Inspire students to explore geographical concepts, from physical landscapes to human interactions with the environment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them reach their full potential.
  • Work closely with the Geography department to enrich curriculum content and teaching methods.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters student engagement and curiosity about the world.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Geography at the secondary level is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on educational best practices.
