The Role
As a Maths Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in helping students develop their mathematical skills while nurturing their emotional and social well-being. Your work will be instrumental in preparing them for their future, both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and tailored maths lessons to students with autism and SEMH needs.
- Develop and implement personalised learning plans, adapting to individual strengths and areas for growth.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that aligns with the school’s core values.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods, including practical and outdoor learning opportunities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to ensure growth.
- Collaborate with SENCOs, support staff, and families to create a cohesive support network.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support students in overcoming challenges.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, such as equine therapy and outdoor education.

The Ideal Candidate
They are looking for a compassionate and dynamic educator who is committed to helping students with autism thrive. About you:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Specialisation in Mathematics and a strong understanding of the curriculum.
- Experience teaching students with autism or SEMH needs, ideally in a specialist setting.
- Knowledge of autism-friendly teaching strategies and interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to challenges.
- Strong organisational skills and adaptability.
- A commitment to professional development and a growth mindset.
