Progress Teachers are working with a mainstream Leicestershire Secondary School to appoint an experienced and inspirational Teacher of MFL (Spanish Specialist). The successful candidate will be required to plan and deliver Spanish lessons to pupils across KS3/KS4, supporting them to develop key skills and competencies in the subject area, as well as fostering a love for language learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver high-quality MFL lessons that engage pupils and help them develop key skills in the target language.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Conduct regular assessment of all four key skills (reading, listening, speaking, writing), maintaining accurate records of outcomes.
  • Classroom Management: Manage classroom behaviour effectively through the consistent use of the School's behaviour policy.
  • Wider School Responsibilities: Engage and actively participate in wider professional responsibilities such as lunchtime duty, parents evenings, and transition open evenings as required by the School.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Teaching Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a focus on MFL is highly advantageous, however, experienced non-qualified teachers will also be considered for the role.
  • Subject Knowledge: A degree in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, French & Spanish, or a related field is essential.
  • Teaching Experience: Proven experience as a Secondary MFL teacher with a successful track record of student achievement is positive, but not essential. Strong ECTs will also be considered for this role.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to Inclusion: A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.
  • A DBS on the Update Service or Willingness to obtain.
  • 2x Satisfactory References.
