Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer

The Role
Our client is currently looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer, they are a market leading manufacturer of ambient food. The successful candidate should ensure equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and a safe working environment as well as be able to maintain minimum downtime to ensure production is efficient. My client operates a 4-on-4-off days/nights shift pattern (6:00-18:00/18:00-6:00) interchangeably.
Duties and responsibilities:
- To handle electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and environmental aspects
- To oversee installation, maintenance, and commissioning of machinery whilst maintaining a close collaboration with production and other departments.
- To be able to maintain the cleanliness of site by adhering to routine engineers' toolbox checks.
- To identify opportunities for improvement in equipment performance and reliability.
- To be able to utilise CMMS system effectively for recording and fault resolution.
- To develop contingency plans for electrical system failures and to contribute to the development of emergency response procedures.
The Candidate
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering field.
- Ideally a proven track record in a similar role in food manufacturing/FMCG.
- Familiarity with PLC systems and automation technology is advantageous.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
- Exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices.
