We are recruiting for a Childrens Residential Support Worker based within the Braunstone area of Leicestershire to work within our beautiful home supporting children & young people between 8-18 years with a complex range of risk and behaviours. The service provides up to 3 service users at any one-time opportunities to enjoy different experiences, establish friendships and develop confidence, independence and social/emotional skills.

Some of the responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to building trust and develop nurturing relationships which promote the service user's independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities. To work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals. To contribute to the upkeep of the home including cooking, cleaning etc. To document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date. To ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to and to promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times.

Whilst Braunstone will be your base location, you must be flexible to travel throughout the locality to support our other homes should the need arise. These are located in Hinckley, Coalville, Mountsorrel, Market Harborough and Syston.

Essential requirements to evidence in your written application of a Childrens Residential Support Worker;

  • Must hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare OR be willing to successfully achieve this within the required timeframe.
  • Must be motivated by the opportunity to make a positive difference in young people's lives, creating a safe space and building resilience.
  • Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children & young people.
  • Flexibility to commit to sleep-ins and shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Relevant experience working with children & young people is desirable, but not essential with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Salary and working hours of a Childrens Residential Support Worker;

Set on a 3-week rolling rota…

Week 1; Mon, Wed and Sat (1 x 24hrs, 2 x 14hrs)

Week 2; Tues, Fri and Sun (1 x 24hrs, 2 x 14hrs)

Week 3; Thurs only (1 x 24 hrs)

24hrs = 10am - 10am

14 hrs = 8am - 10pm

£24,398 - £29,172 (plus a £3,000 per year allowance)
