Join a Supportive, Specialist Team

Leicester City Council is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join their Kinship Assessment Team. If you're passionate about helping children remain within their extended families when they can't live with birth parents, this is an ideal opportunity.

You'll carry out evidence-based assessments of prospective Kinship carers and Special Guardians. These are often time-sensitive to support legal proceedings and permanency planning.

What You'll Do
  • Undertake Kinship and Special Guardianship assessments

  • Prepare reports for fostering panels and courts

  • Attend reviews, permanency, and legal planning meetings

  • Manage your own caseload, time, and records

  • Work within the Signs of Safety framework

What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Social Worker (Level 3), registered with SWE

  • Experience working with looked after children

  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice

  • Strong assessment, communication, and time-management skills

  • Fostering/kinship experience is helpful, not essential
