Position: Senior Embedded Engineer
Salary: Up to £80,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Leicester
About the Role:
We are working with a forward-thinking client who is expanding their engineering team in Leicester. They are seeking a Senior Embedded Engineer with a strong background in embedded software development. You will play a key role in leading technical and project decisions while driving the development of cutting-edge embedded systems.
In this position, you will take charge of the firmware development process, from requirement specification through to implementation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including test and validation, and be responsible for maintaining industry standards and facilitating design reviews. Your expertise in RF technologies, embedded C/C++ programming, and microcontroller development (STM32 experience is highly desirable) will be crucial in shaping the future of their product offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead firmware development activities and contribute to architectural decisions
- Create and manage firmware requirements specifications
- Coordinate design reviews and collaborate with the test and validation teams
- Apply industry standards to ensure high-quality software solutions
- Take a hands-on role in embedded C/C++ programming and microcontroller development
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong expertise in embedded C/C++ programming
- Hands-on experience with microcontroller development
- Familiarity with Keil IDE
- Experience with RF technologies, such as LoRa or similar
- Solid understanding of embedded systems design and development
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with STM32 chipsets
- Previous experience in a technical leadership role
- Familiarity with Agile development tools (JIRA, GitHub, etc.)
