Position: Learning Support Assistant Location: Leicestershire-based secondary schools Start Date: As soon as possibleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students across the school that have individual individuals in their academic and social development. Your role will involve providing tailored support to meet the specific needs of each student across a variety of subject areas. Students have a range of special needs with the biggest requirement being SEMH.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with SEN.
  • Support classroom activities and help manage student behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt learning materials and resources.
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant is essential.
  • Experience in supporting SEMH needs is essential.
  • Experience providing 1:1 support is desirable.
  • A passion for working with children and a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A relevant teaching assistant or childcare qualification would be advantageous, though not essential.
