Shape A Lifeis looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive SEN school in Barwell, Leicestershire. In this role you will be working in a Key Stage 2 class. The class is relatively calm and well structured and the children are on course to achieve their full potential.

This is a wonderful opportunity for any graduate interested in a career in SEN or maybe if youre an aspiring teacher/educational/child/clinical psychologist. You will get the opportunity to work for the full academic year in an SEN school working with children at their own level helping them to achieve academically and forge ahead in their lives. You will join a very friendly and hardworking team in a very successful and well-regarded school.

We are looking for someone with high energy and enthusiasm who is keen to have a job which will make the difference in the lives of young people.

Starting after the Easter Break -this will be a term-time-only position for the remainder of the academic year, and you will earnĀ£479 per week.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in the classroom assisting the teacher
  • Assist in maintaining classroom discipline through the implementation of the schools behaviour management strategies.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons you are responsible for or come into contact with.

The successful graduate will:

  • Hold a degree2:2 or aboveand have an interest in SEN.
  • Have well-developed interpersonal skills to be able to relate well to a wide range of people.
  • Work constructively as part of a team whilst being able to demonstrate initiative.
  • Have a professional and respectful approach which demonstrates support and shows mutual respect
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude including suggesting solutions, participating, trusting and encouraging others and achieving expectations
  • Be committed to the continuous development of self and others by keeping up to date and sharing knowledge, encouraging new ideas, seeking new opportunities and challenges, open to ideas and developing new skills.
